You actually shot on an 8mm camera didn’t you? Looks awesome man.
Absolutely stunning video and presentation. You've definitely got me viewing my home landscape from a different perspective now!
My home :)
I visited the Albright Grove myself one week ago today. It feels like a hidden cathedral. Sacred ground where few have set foot. Beneath the giants you can't help but whisper. I'm about 99.9% sure that's what you've documented here. Massive tulip poplars! I wish you'd been able to document them fully but love the storytelling in your video.
Thank you for pronouncing Appalachian correctly 🤣
Go to the azores and see laurissilvian forest!!
Any one notice the shadow move across the screen at 8:34 - 8:38 ?
so weird yeah wtf
My family has been in Appalachia for 300 years. It is part of me. My father taught me the ways of the woods from the time I could walk. Some of my favorite memories of these rainforests. Most people don't understand how thick the forest gets during high growth periods. It can just swallow buildings. I always hope my home will be wild and free.
8:35 really creepy artifacts showing up in the footage lol
i thought it was a ghost lol
i hiked through the smokies in 17' its the most magical place ive ever been.
The first and only time I had the pleasure of experiencing quiet was on the shore of Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park just before dawn. Jackson airport didn't have any flights come in, and no one else was there. The only word that can just barely describe it was serenity. Good luck on the quiet zoning folks.
What’s the soundtrack music used in the video, particularly before he starts talking about bears?
Yay something wholesome
It's still a poor region today, but the feel of WNC is the reason I don't want to leave. I live, and was raised in Franklin. I have a small piece of this literally out my back door. It sickens me to know that certain politicians in the state would rather gain money instead of saving our ecosystem. They want to get rid of state park and monument protections across the country and sell them off to developers and oil magnates, as indicated by their Project 2025 manifesto. If they succeed, places like the Smokies will be deforested. The very people that keep voting for those despots will be the first ones affected. The SCOTUS rulings as of late are just the precursors.
Fantastic storytelling! Appalachia underrated and creative work like this needs to be shared more readily.
Where I live in Ky there isnt a rainforest enviroment but central Kentucky forest have thick under canopy that makes them harder to navigater your way through than most jungles.
Absolutely awesome video. Very well composed and the facts and sources are professional. This is now on my bucket list, thank you for caring about the land brother
I'm surprised you don't mention the Native Americans who lived in these mountains and were able to exploit its resources. They didn't find the mountains to be a barrier at all.
12:28 🙌
@@AidinRobbins where do you get your background music?
The term rain forest is much abused.
believe it or not tennessee has started reintroducing elk back into these areas!
The Pacific Northwest used to be a Rainforest. I think if the people didn't value shade so much, the Appalachian Rainforests would be at the same level of risk for deforestation & desertification
Incredible. This video touched me. Just absolutely incredible mate. The production value, the cinematography, and best of all, the nature. Good job lad.
I got married in the southern most part of this area. So beautiful.
For those who don't know. Mt. Kulshan is Mt. Baker, and Mt. Tahoma is Mt. Rainier.
As an Asheville native this video touches my soul. Thank you
you made my vagina cry there at the end.
What’s so crazy and beautiful to me is that these mountains have existed since before Saturn has had its rings, and will most likely continue to exist until Saturn loses them
The music at the end of this video gave me crazy goosebumps, the cinematography of this whole piece is also incredible, glad I found your videos when I did!
where in TN and NC can you visit this place? Anything in GA?
i'm from east-central KY in the Appalachian portion, and i absolutely love this part of the country. its plum full of natural beauty here, everywhere you look. i always thought it was special here, but this video really brings it home for me. Appalachia is magical, y'all, i can't even describe in words what this wild land is like. we don't have the temperate rain forest part, far as i know, but we do have big stretches of nothin but forest and mountain for miles and miles, dotted with little settlements and hollers tucked up where y'can't see em. in the western portion, it's a bit flatter, getting closer to the central portion of KY it starts to get real hilly, real fast, lol. there's so much wildlife and nature all around. so much better than honking horns, asphalt, sirens, screaming people, and buildings that blot out the sky. i'm going to start taking dashcam videos coming in and out of my holler, there's other creators doing that but, i think it's nice for people to see what kinda beauty we got all around us here, what our morning commute looks like every day and what a holler looks like, the anatomy of it, what sights you're liable to see here, and the real people who live there. its such a great region though, can't say enough good things about good ole Kentucky :)
Is video about the Missing 411 cases?
I'm always amazed by the colorgrading on your videos.
Bro those panoramas
Most bears are just great, until they eat you.
thank you for saying appalachia correctly!
This is where I live. I love it
Wow
man I wish i could get a job like this
And now you gotta go tell everybody . Can a man get any peace around here?
Where is that first shot of the bridge located I'm from wv and that river looks so sick
Oh I wanna see these mountains irl!!!!
I backpacked a quarter of the A.T. And you really start to get rainforest look in the Smokys at high elevation
Don't matter if it's a park or not. There will be a Dollar Tree built. All trees shall be cut down
Great video! Northern Arizona is an amazing place. Made some of my own videos on the area a few years ago youtube.com/@journietours?si=yLz2byAg-LIQrUUp
AMAZING as always!!! Thank you for sharing your gift with us🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic video- I highly recommend checking out The rainforests of Tasmania if you ever get the chance
Maybe they weren't the first volcanologists.. maybe they were the first to narrowly escape a fiery embrace of death and live to tell the tale
Truly incredible 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Silence is the main reason I go camping in non official camping grounds. People go camping with loud generators, boats, chainsaws, radios and are just being loud in general. Winter is even quieter from where I'm from, since most people that aren't enthusiastic campers tend to stay out of forests in cold temperatures and unplowed trails. Snowmobiles that can go quite deep but usually they don't camp so nights are incredibly silent. Even the night sky is getting more and more polluted with satellites (namely Starlink) and cities/people using incredibly strong LEDs to light up their driveway all night long. All this comes down to respect. Respect for the nature around you, recognizing you're visiting an incredibly old entity that was there for milennias before you came. It doesn't need you and it probably doesn't want you either so being as quiet as possible really is a for of recognition that you're only an unwanted guest. The forest didn't called you in; you imposed your presence. Respect for other guests around you that have understood this and act accordingly. Respect for the animals. If you want to be in contact with fauna, just shut the hell up, look and listen. You'll see and hear, guaranteed. Just ask a hunter how he feels about his mate next to him cracking a beer and eating chips... Thanks for this video! I hope it's "ear opening" to people, even more so to new people who wants to go out camping for the first time in a long time or ever... Public forests aren't you're property; you're a unwanted guest. Remember this.
good video but bad advertisement.
